Listed are organizations for avian, canine, equine and feline rescue, plus a wide range of other species. Geographical areas are specified, so it is easier to find a rescue near you.

Rescue organizations change so it is impossible to keep any list completely up to date, but this is a good starting point. For purebred dog rescue, the American Kennel Club also maintains a list at its website: http://www.akc.org/breeds/rescue.cfm
