A USA today writer weighs in on Missouri legislators’ decision to overturn the will of the voters by “gutting” Proposition B, as one of its proponents puts it.
I’m often asked these days by people who learn I lived in Missouri years ago to explain how its residents could have allowed the dog breeding thing to get so bad. Many of them, not even “dog people,” really, have boycotted Missouri for quite some time on the grounds that history is filled with atrocities that took seed and flourished because the people turned a blind eye, and these folks don’t want to be party to that.
