That’s the message of the Pets for Life Reading Education Assistance Dogs (READ) program.

Dogs learn to respond to cues that make them appear to be reading and following written commands, such as “sit,” “down,” “beg,” “spin,” and “stand.”

The READ program operates in the United States and Canada. All breeds of dog are welcome. Cats, rabbits and guinea pigs have also participated.
